I'm back in the freelance hunt. I got a second run at Stardust, and it was quite enjoyable. Most of all, they do great work.

*NEW 3.6.10 - Koreatown Rage the movie

i just finshed writiing a short film, titled Koreatown Rage, which i will also produce. A website is soon to follow, so be on the look out with all the information for news, cast, crew, and fund raising information.

*NEW 2.20.10 - 3D conversion at StereoD LLC.

I've been working like a hungry mad man over at StereoD. We convert flat 2D images into 3D volumetric pictures.

12.26.09 - Happy Holidays

I thank all my family and freinds who have supported me through the past couple of years of living and grinding out the life i learned to love in LA. I could not have done it without you.

This year by far has been the best year for me. I got a chance to work on a major feautre film that was released during the summer (Terminator Salvation) and got screen credit for. Followed by several short commercial gigs. This was also the year that I found creative inspiration for my short film which I began writing/producing in October. More details about this coming sooon. The upcoming year poses some interesting challenges. As always there is this uncertain knowledge of how things will work out, but the belief in the process of doing good work that takes us to get there will truly make 2010 another remarkable year. It was a blessing to be back at Luma for a brief but worth while term. I am now happy to be working from Santa Monica. Stardust does great work.

6.05.09 - Greg Ephraim rock star Director of Photography

Its pretty amazing to see where fellow college mates go in their career paths. Greg has a talent for creating stunning visuals with the camera, currently shooting on RED. He has pimarity shot music videos for many record label bands, many of which have aired on MTV and other network musical spaces. Hopefully he'll venture into the LA scene.

6.05.09 - Meet Deon Lee

I met this guy named Deon, Film Composer for Original Music. He has scored for a Taiwanese film, "Blue Brave: The Legend of Formosa in 1895"and for televisoin on "The Tenth Circle which has preimierd on Life Time.

5.15.09 - Terminator Salvation opens May 21st.

Congrats to all the hard earned effort put into making T4. This film adds on to a stellar list of VFX driven films that Asylum FX has been recognized for. It was an honor to be part of the Roto/Paint department at Asylum. This will be the first time my credit will appear on the big screen.

Anouncing, the new HP Fergie spot, is now finally released to the public. Its was truly an honor to be part of the team that labored on this spot over at Motion Theory. The folks over at Motion Theory are doing some sick work. I'm keeping a lookout on them!

11.28.08 - Ray Young Chu and Quang Le collaborates with Gym Class Heroes


The dynamic duo from the OC, are thowing some knock out punches in their most recent collaboration with Gym Class Heroes. Together they have come up with and executed the design concept for their newest poster and album cover art. Check out Quang as the asian man in Gym Class Heroes latest music video, Guilty As Charged.

Its time to explore this area of Los Angeles. I've been living here since August 2008, and each day my surrounding has sparked visions and messages. I feel that it is time now to make a personal statement about what these surroundings mean.

9.27.08 - Nutcracker - Its a wrap
Its was a pleasure to be part of the Roto/Paint department over at Luma Pictures. Everything from the animation, CG matte paintings, and live action integration has looked fantastic. Even when the pressure was on, we all came through as a team. As equal success in our part, we hope it will hold true for its release. Nutcracker is due out in 2009. It will be a much anticipated film release.

8.25.08 - YNCC Live
The folks over at at YNCC truly know how to celebrate when it comes to music. Gregg Bissonette and co. (Jimmy Johnson, Jeff Babko ) brought world class jazz to the forefront of a christian church. At the heart of it was His faith in God and an invitation to share the magic of his musical hour.

8.17.08 - RayYoung Chu and Quang Le
Its a happy collaboration with some friendly folks ( Ray and Quang )residing in Orange County, CA. Check out their latest work they did for Triumvir. I wish to see more in the near future.

For the next few months I'll be working on Nutcracker over at Luma Pictures. This is slated for Christmas 2009.

I wiill always remember the time i spent here despite its shortcomings. Sometimes doors open for you in times you least expect them.

It's nice to start fresh at a new studio with some really dope people. Interning for Zoic should help me concentrate in building my compositing technique. The best part is that i enjoy learning and always providing whats best for the team.

3.10.08 - Danity Kane Damaged music video
I just want to say that the folks at Syndrome Studio are really some dope people and very talented, and I was fortunate to have an oppotunity to get my first L.A. gig on the latest Danity Kane Damaged music video. My first exposure to L.A.'s commericial scene was rigorous and humble experience. My hope is to learn and to adjust to this fast style consistent work pace. Thank you everyone, to alll my friends and family for ongoing care.

2.22.08 - Who's Ray Young Chu
You will be lucky if you get a chance to see him or even crack bad jokes with him, or share a nice dish of clam chowder. Ray Young Chu dedicates friendship and art in equal respects and has drawn notable clients such as DJ Qbert. He's also part of The Yummies Crew. He's mostly seen around at Denver art galleries and periodically travels to the west coast.

2.04.08 - New for 2008
I've recently relocated to southern cal, in the LA area. Its a brand new perspective here, tons of new opportunities, new people, and many challenges to come. This year will be hard to resist, to go out with impact, and create new vibes. Thank you to all my family and friends for all the support.

This will be my first attempt to add a little hype about the film i worked on. The album soundtrack is now available! And in case you're wondering, Mathew Sweet heads the list of tracks which including Lisa Germano, the Clientele, Howe Gelb, and Built To Spill’s Doug Martsch makes it a formidable indie rock collection. Currently in post-production. Thanks to all the crew and cast members for their hard work. It is the editor's job to lift the burden off and to change whatever mix emotions that were experienced during the shoot into a fine blend of music, performance, and cinematography.
